Self Evaluation Showcase June 2014

Self-Evaluation Showcase June 2014
We responded to the stimuli “Elements” by creating a dance planner and putting down our thoughts of what came to our mind and made a mind map. As a group we decided on the element of natural disasters;
Earthquake
Tsunami
Ice Slide
Blizzard
Tropical cyclones
Heat Waves
Lighting
Tornadoes
Volcanic eruptions
Wildfires/Bush Fires
We then researched onto Google natural disasters as we thought that we could create the story of what happens in a Tsunami. We researched into Tsunami’s and You Tubed into Tsunami’s, we then had the idea of Thailand Tsunami witch happened in 2004 killing 2000 people. We got ideas from the workshops that had taken part in class. We liked the idea of tableaux and researched Google images of a family on a beach of how they were sitting and how the family expressions were on their faces and also looked at pictures of people stranded in a Tsunami this helped us to create a tableaux. In the workshop of Chloe’s we enjoyed doing retro-grade this was effective to watch in other peoples group pieces and we thought that it would be a good way of telling a story for our group piece. We responded using a picture this was a family stranded on cars and boxes. We thought of the idea of using props this was by recreating the picture by using the black boxes and standing on top of them being stranded. As a group we watched youtube clips of the Impossible this was a true life film of a family stranded in a Tsunami this helped us create emotions and expressions on our faces. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR4Flf_w0a8) . We used another prop for our group piece this was using a picture of a family for the end section of our dance. This was used when there was a voice over “I didn’t expect my holiday to be like this, I’ve lost my children my family and I didn’t think I’d go home alone.”

We worked on the structure of the dance and this was by a narrative ABC telling a story of the real life event what happened in 2004 in Thailand. A section was about when we were all at the beach enjoying our holiday until Rob spots the tides are going out and come rushing back in. We then created a build-up in our routine this was by creating a climax to our piece and was the B section for our dance this was by Honor and me getting taken away by the waves of the tsunami, we used disco for this section as disco is a powerful dance by using jumps spins and traveling. The C section of our group piece was when Opal and Rob are trying to save each other and Opal is stranded on the box (car) looking for Rob and trying to save him. We used a lot of devices throughout our routine these were, gestures (pointing and having our hands beside our heads) this was carried out throughout the routine this was always repeated. We used motif and motif development our motif was always being carried out throughout the dance this was by always pointing and having our hands up beside our head. Retro grade this was by creating a motif and developing it doing it all backwards this was a challenge but it worked out well in the end this was eye catchy for the audience to watch as it created the story we was trying to get across. The balance and proportion we used in our group piece when using contact work of hugging we used force for this, this was by using emotions and researching of someone actually losing someone and how much force/strength they would use hugging the person they are about to lose.
unison ( dancing all together whacking, house)  this made the story clear for the audience to watch by doing it all together at some points of the dance this created the story that we had found each other.
floor patterns ( the way our routine was layed out using floor patterns) , we used floor patterns as we thought of the tsunami spreading out and being big.
repetition ( use of look out gesture)  we used the gesture of hand beside head and pointing throughout our dance as this was used as a motif and we wanted to carrying it on throughout the dance so that we could create the story of looking for each other.
symmetry (same sides doing the same thing) , we used symmetry this was effect for the audience to watch this was by us all doing the motif at the same time but one by one but in different heights (me and Honor the same height, Rob and Opal different height on the boxes)

Our strengths in our group piece were working with each other’s abilities, adapting each other’s ideas and using everyone’s styles that we were all strong on, working in a team ,bouncing of each other's ideas, all agreeing on the same things/ ideas and adding in each other's ideas.
We had our weakness in our group piece these were focusing on rehearsals and how often we rehearsed during class and outside of class in our own time we had. Our timing was the issue for the group piece this was by the first section of our group piece when we are all at the beach. Also another weakness in rehearsal time for developing choreography were connecting with the audience and getting into character.

Whilst developing our choreography for our routine we used whacking for our style of dance for our motif and this was because we thought it was powerful and was a good use of dynamics ( flow and speed / heavy ) for our motif.  We used our heads moving side to side with our arms going the same way as use of panic when we see the state of what the hotel is and everything else what was destroyed. We also used another style of dance for our motif and this was by using house we thought of the idea as running away from what has happened and running away from waves (more waves that are coming) We used logical sequencing for this part as we all thought that it felt right by the way our body moves with the movements that we created and this was by running ( house step) and footwork. We also looked for openings of how we would create movements for our routine and how we created different parts of our story of what we were creating a true life story we used blackout for when it was “breaking news” this was more effective for the audience to watch and that it was actually telling a story of what happened and how much of a panic everyone would have been in. Also we used musicality for our choreography this was by when there was a big beat in the music we would reach out ( grab) and when the music was calm we would do slow but heavy movements to connect with the music we repeated the music from the first section for the end section of our group this was by telling the story of Thailand Tsunami in 2004. We also used contact for hugging each other and use of facial expressions of how we would be feeling in the situation we were creating again but in a dance.

When working with other performers during the choreographic progress, I thought that it really helped me out with my performance and to build confidence when dancing the group piece. I thought that giving feedback to other dancers/performers really helped and when they gave our group feedback and improvements to work on it really helped out to see what feedback other performers gave each other and how effective it is being an audience. The feedback from other performers helped they gave us positive things that could work well by giving ideas and helping when interoperating different style of dance in the routine. I learnt as a performer the behaviour of other performers throughout rehearsals and the final performance everyone was very supportive and worked within a team in there group pieces. Some people had their moments but they got through in because everyone worked together and became a team in the end.

During this project of choreographing a group piece we all shared the role of choreographing parts of the group piece, we all worked well and interpreted every bodies abilities within  the group. We shared ideas and developed them into movements and used logical sequencing of what felt right to do after and what came to our minds this helped us to create choreography. This was very different from choreographing a solo as I found it easier as you had 3 other people to bounce ideas off. I learnt that being a choreographer can be very stressful and challenging as you are put on the spot and always think that your ideas are not very good. Also I learnt that the relationships with dancers during this process in a group piece get very stressed with each other and annoyed. My group relationship was very good as we came up with ideas for the routine and respected everyone ideas.

For our final performance as a group our strengths were improvising when going wrong and having a backup for when the lights went of at the wrong time and still carrying on in character. We connected with the audience well this was by having the drawn in and recreating/ telling the story clear of what happened on the day of the Thailand Tsunami in 2004. Also we connected well with the audience by using emotions when Rob spotting the waves going out and then when they come crashing in, when me and Honor get taken away by the waves, hugging each other this showed passion and sadness of how much pain everyone was in. Our weakness was timing at the begging of the routine this was because I was a count ahead and Rob was a count behind when bring the arms up. Also another weakness was that we kept on rushing our routine so that we would have to wait in stillness when we are all fighting the waves and grabbing onto each other.

We ensured that we used a wide range of dynamics throughout our routine
speed - this was by slow using the motif of pointing and having our hand beside our head we also used the music for this. Fast this was when the climax built in and we were all rubbing each other and panicking as we were recreating when people got taken away by the waves.
force- this was by using heavy movements such as jumps and contact work (hugging) we thought that heavy movements would expresses the feelings of a family losing each other and having that last moment with them.
flow- we used flow as how each movement went with each other and how we used the weight of each movement used. Also we used strong  and sharp this was by the contact section ( Rob and Opal ) an the hugging section with all of us at the very start of the routine.
Also we ensured that we used performance skills this was by sense of rhythm how we were able to feel the beat and project throughout dancing to the music, spatial awareness by knowing where we were facing, the direction of the action, and the size of the space we had and to have our own space to not bump into each other when dancing to be spread out. Flexibility within each other when using a range of different styles (disco, house and whacking).Stamina how long we could all go for and that we were weren't out of breath to quickly during the dance when using a range of different styles continuously.

Our ideas developed from our original dance planner by researching into Thailand tsunami and watching The Impossible to find out how it would affect everyone and what actually happened on that very day on 26th December 2004. Many peoples life’s and homes were taken away from them, we wanted to recreate the whole story but by having the story of a family on holiday enjoying a day out at the beach. We kept the original idea as we all agreed and was all very interested about recreating the story of what happened. We thought this would also be a good as it responded to the stimuli "elements". Our choreography developed through researching pictures of how a wave was created as we wanted to create how the ocean created such a big wave to take away many peoples life's and homes. We used movement components for this ,this was by turning, falling, travelling and stillness for creating a wave. Also, another way of how our choreography developed was by using props the boxes and a picture of the family this was an idea to make the dance more realistic and to draw the audience in.

To improve my own practice for future choreography I think that asking peoples opinion on what I have choreographed and how I could develop my work to make it more interesting to watch for the audience and that I could have asked Kat/Roasia students for advice improving my work. Also,to improve in future choreography I think that I could explore different dance styles that I don't usually use, I could also improve onto diverse choreography. When finishing of a routine I should polish up and always use my technique when applying different dance styles.

Thursday 22nd May

Today in our group piece we continued with developing movements and motifs for the end section of our dance. This when Rob and Opal are trying to save and grab onto eachother but Rob is taken away by the strong waves.
We watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3XfIx0i9pk this as people getting taken away by a Tsmani. We then rebuilt the story of this and this was by having partner work and then Rob jumping onto the floor and pushing himself towards Opal to try and grab onto her, meanwhile Opal is on the box (ontop of a car) and then does small gestures when there is a voice over in the music explaining the story of what has happened on this very day of the family holiday.

Thursday 8th May

Today we set goals to achieve in our groups. My group goals were to develop the house section and change patterns and moves that don't work and to build on a climax.

We firstly started of with going over the routine with the final music still responding to the stimuli of "Elements" (Tsunami ) with the picture of people being trapped on cars and in buildings and creating the story of the real live event that happened.

We then developed the house section and changed some moves and used more choreographic devices to make the piece more interesting this was by using unison and cannon and different levels. We the created more of a story by researching more on how people reacted towards getting dragged out by the Tsunami and how much of a panic they really were in. We used rolling travelling and jumping for this section of the dance when we are all panicking and getting taken away by the wave.

We then used contact work for when we are getting taken by the waves this was by a small hug and a pull on the leg from Honor and Opal meanwhile while Rob is trying to save us all.

Me and Honor then get taken away by the Tsnami and Rob and Opal are the only ones                       that survive until Rob can no longer hold onto the tree.

Meanwhile Opal is panicking and trying to save all of us I then get taken away by the Tsnami and Opal is all alone, there is a over speech in the music at the end explain what has happened. Meanwhile why Opal is trying to save Rob. Me and Honor are in the back ground waving up and down like we are breathing.

Our action plan for next lesson is to clean the sections up and create a new tableau for the start of our routine for when we are at the beach and spot the Tsunami coming towards us.

Thursday 1st May

Today we spoke about our group and individual biography's. I had improvements to make on my individual biography and this was just by explaining more of what I have done and what I have taken part in and if i wish to stay onto next year for my 3rd year. Our group biograpthy just needed changing about the family characters as mum and dad parents of two and twins.

We then worked on our group choregrapthy for the rest of the lesson we had, we worked on the structure of the dance and this was by a narrative ABC telling a story of a real life event what happened in 2004 in Thailand. We then worked on facial expressions and feelings of how we would feel if we were actually in that situation and then recapped over what we had already done. We then continued to build a climax to our piece and this would be the B section and this is by Honor and me getting taken away by the waves.

We are still using the image to respond to the stimuli and this is by using the black blocks at the start of our routine for when the Tsunami comes towards us and we are panicking .

We then used this image for the feelings of panicking and how everyone would be feeling at that time. We used dynamics (force) how we would pull each other to help each other up and out of the Tsunami and how we would feel when we all were safe by using speed - slow as a relief of everyone there.

Thursday 24th April

Today in class we spoke about our choreographic principles blog and how we could improve and what we could improve on. We work in our groups that we are working in for the show in June. We looked at each other's blogs and gave individual feed back to one another.

We then had to indemnify strengths and weaknesses for our own blogs
         STRENGTHS

  • All up to date
  • Know what I'm talking about
  • Cover the main points.
        WEAKNESS
  • Don't bullet point as much
  • Try not to repeat myself to much
  • More research to be done

What do we individually think what we could improve on?
  • Explain more what is happening when I upload a photo
  • Use more technical language
Pick one strong blog and explain why it is "good" in your option?
My group pick my blog and gave me the reasons why my blog is the strongest in our group and why they think it was good. The feedback I had was that my blog is always up to date. I always answer the questions that are set in class and explain using some technical language and it responds to the stimuli and that its interesting to look at.

How does it link to the criteria?
By using technical language and explaining what is being done in class time.

List of areas to discuss in blogs?
  • Write an action plan of what the group is going to do next
  • work within a team and give eachother feedback all the time

Thursday 3rd

What we achieved today in our group :

We achieved to build up a climax in our group routine this was by us actually getting hit by the waves and 3people die and only one is left remaining and added in more devices this was by using floor patterns and contact work. We also added retro grade for the end section of our group choreography from Chloe's class on Tuesday. We all thought this would look affective in our group as this would be a good thing to use to tell the audience about the story of a family that are on holiday and get hit by a Tsunami ( Thailand ) . We need to work on our performance and emotions to connect with an audience. We also have a clear mind of what is happening in our routine and we all know what is happening. We need to improve on using more devices
  • dynamics ( making movements more sharper, using force more )
  • gestures ( creating more gestures that are always shown in the routine)
  • facings   ( different directions but all doing the same thing )
  • symmetry ( same thing )
  • repetition  ( repeating the same thing maybe in chorus )
  • cannon ( using more cannon in routine but using it in logical sequencing )
  • unison ( doing more things together as a group )
  • accumulation
in our group piece and to also, create more of a routine. We need to improve on rehearsing our routine this would be by setting out when we are all free to rehearse our routine together.

Tuesday 1st Apirl

Today our class was abit of a mix up because we had no studio for half of the lesson,we then danced outside and dance was created on the streets. This was different to dancing in class as it was a different atmosphere from dancing in the studio. There was also problems with the ground but this is something that in the future if we dance outside that we could consider onto. We rehearsed the routines that we had been doing in class time this was, Fast Car, Launch and urban. We rehearsed Launch and everyones timing was out of time this may of been due to the surroundings around us ( people)  and nerves may of got to everyone. I still need to work on my technique used throughout the dance to improve on my armlines and posture when dancing. I also, need to walk in with my shoulders rolled back and to walk with a attitude. We then moved on to rehearse Fast car I need to work on the floor routine and the timing with everyone else. I also need to work on my character and performance throughout the routine of feelings and emotions. Also, we rehearsed urban this was a massive mix up and nobody could remember the routine. We all need to work on movement memory and working in a team.

Clhoe then took over class but this was indoors to teach us a choreographic principles workshop this was by working in our groups using retro grade for our routine for  the show.
We all worked well as a team and was thinking of using retro grade for the end section in our routine when we are all taken away from the waves. We thought that this would look affective in our routine but it was a challenging thing to do.  Also, we were given development points to make when using retro grade this was by using different facings e.g when hugging turn to the other direction and floor patterns this was maybe by doing the routine at different levels and different spacings in the room.

We are going to develop our routine by counting on using retro grade for our end section and knowing what is going on in our routine.

Thursday 27th March

In my group choreograpthy we have used a range of devices so for to conbine into our routine we have used:
  • Cannon
  • Repititon
  • Motif
  • Motif development
  • Symmerty
  • Uison
  • Gestures
  • Dynamics
  • Musicality
We have used these devices to make the routine more intresting we have used motif development for our chours and changed the facing and spacing for this, we thought this would be a good idea to make the performance to lift. We have used repition throughout the dance and this was by using one of the gestures ( looking) that is always used in the dance.

What do we need to develop on?

In my group we need to develop on using dynamics throughout the dance by this we can develop on making our movements sharper and more clearer. Also we need to develop on rehersal time and this is not by just rehersing in class, we need to rehearse after class and any time we all can. We need to develop on conutie to work on everyones abilites and use of styles.

Thursday 20th March

Group piece

What worked well in our group piece so far?

  • working in a team
  • bouncing of each other's ideas
  • all agree on the same things/ ideas
  • added in each other's ideas
  • work at everyone's abilities
Individually -

  • create more moves to add into routine and more ideas

What areas can develop as a group?

  • everyone committing to ideas
  • use of dynamics/levels
  • have a clearer structure of routine
what choreographic principles have we been using?

DEVICES
  • repetition
  • motif development
  • logical sequencing
  • contact
  • cannon
  • floor patterns
  • climax
  • symmetry
  • tableaux
  • stillness

Tableaux - 4 counts still
               - 4 counts clapping hands

TSUNAMI
Impossible back track  ( waves hitting)

Shago feat Bosko Buha intro - 47 seconds
Tsnami - 1min 14seconds
Breaking news

In my group we need to work on creating a climax for the routine and looking at quotes for our end section of the routine this would be by one of us dancing over the speech and asking why this has happened to us and the family.

Tuesday 4th March

Tuesday 4th March

We created a motif from the picture of Thailand Tsunami and came up with the idea of using black boxes for props and use of them when the tsunami hits Thailand  we then are stranded on them. We then created movement from the picture of the tsunami and this was by using movement components , travelling , falling and mainly gestures. We used gestures from our tableau  we created and this was by looking out at the waves as they go back and then come forward. We then thought of the style whacking and house for tsunami.

We used choreographic devices to create our motif for our group dance these were

  • logical sequencing ( house section moving side to side)
  • canon ( dancing all together whacking,house)
  • floor patterns
  • repetition ( use of look out gesture)
  • symmetry

We also thought of using emotions behind the dance for the lost of people and what people went through on 26th December 2004. These were
  • heart broken
  • upset
  • sad
  • lonely destroyed
  • lost

We created 4 counts of 8 for our motif that would be always be repeated throughout our group dance and to change our dynamics and floor patterns for our motif development and this is what we will be doing next time.

  • We first created floor pattern and this was by having me and Honor on the boxes and Rob and Opal on the grown we though of this motif for after when the tsunami has hit us

  • We then created a motif from our tableau from the picture we were using to get inspirations from it .We got the idea of the boxes from were people are standing on cars and rubbish we used our tableau to use gestures from it and this was by Rob pointing and Opal looking out at sea to see whats happening. We then thought of looking out at sea and using emotions of panic behind the dance to create a story of what is happening/going to happen.

  • We then used whacking for our style of dance for our motif and this was because we thought it was powerful and was a good use of dynamics ( flow and speed / heavy ) for our motif.  We used our heads moving side to side with our arms going the same way as use of panic when we see the state of what the hotel is and everything else what has been destroyed.

  • We also used another style of dance for our motif and this was by using house we thought of the idea as running away from what has happened and running away from waves ( more waves that are coming) We used logical sequencing for this part as we all thought that it felt right by the way our body moves with the movements that we created and this was by running ( house step) and footwork.

Thursday 27th Feb

Today we got put into our groups we will be working with towards our group piece for the end of year show in June. We created a mind map of all the ideas we had for the stimuli "elements" my groups then came up with the simple elements e.g wind, fire, earth, air, water. We then thoughts of natural disasters ; flooding, earth quakes, whirl pools ,tsunami,,volcano etc . Also we thought of the different styles of dance that would respond to natural disasters. We came up with the idea of lyrical hip hop, popping, jazz and contemporary.
We researched into natural disasters and are going to base our dance on tsunami.  We researched more into tsunamis and there were many countries that were/are being hit by tsunamis and have had everything destroyed.  We then looked onto YouTube and looked at the tsunami that was in Thailand in 2004 this killed over 2000 people .

We then thought of the idea of having the structure as a narrative ( telling a story ) as us all being a family on a holiday and take a day trip to the sea side ( beach) but then when we turn on the radio there is breaking news that there will be a tsunami some time today and we get caught up in it. Opal and Rob are the parents of the family and me and Honor are the children of the family. We also thought of the idea of having a voice over of what has happened that day and how we are surviving today. We created a tableaux and this was by Opal sunbathing and Rob handing over a drink and me and Honor as children playing in the sand. We then created another tableaux and this was by Rob then seeing the tsunami coming towards us. Next week we plan to create movement from the tableaux we created in class today

Research

I researched on YouTube Tsunami's in Thailand and I found that many things were destroyed and many families were hurt by the buildings and homes that taken down/ away from them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yczR7dl-y1Y

2004 - Thailand Tsunamis Sunday, 26 December.

Also I researched into Tsunami pictures and waves and I used the picture to create movements such as waving, circles, lines and then thought of having a climax as the waves taking over Thailand.

Tuesday 11th Feb

Today Chloe taught in class, she taught us structures devices and dynamics to help us out with with our group pieces for the show case in June. I was put in a group with Brodie,Koriella and Bella. We had the responded to the stimuli "elements" with a picture Chloe gave us, she gave us a picture of fire dance and we then created a mind map of what fire reminded us of and what movements we could do to create choreography with just a picture.

We wrote down all the things we thought of when fire came to our head and what movements we could use went creating choreography from the picture we was given. We used the picture and the shape of the fire to help us with movements and this is what gave our group the idea of spiral, round, angry, dangerous dance.

We then got give the structure Ternary this meant that the three sections are different from each other. We first started of with a build up of fire and then used movement components to make the dance more interesting to watch, we used many levels travailing and turning for the build up of fire. Also, we used many floor patterns and jumps of a explosion of fire this was for section  A and B. We then used retro grade for section A but developed it, this meant doing the same as what you already did but doing it backwards e.g like when your rewind something on tv.

When taking part in a group you need to work as a team, respect each other's ideas and listen to each other. We also need to work to everyone's abilities as you don't want someone over powering another dancer.

          Elements of design

  • Line - can be considered in two ways.
  • Shape - A shape is a self contained defined area of geometric or organic form
  • Direction - All lines have direction - Horizontal, Vertical or Oblique. Horizontal suggests calmness, stability and tranquillity. Vertical gives a feeling of balance, formality and alertness.
  • Size - Size is simply the relationship of the area occupied by one shape to that of another
  • Texture - surface quality of a shape - rough, smooth, soft hard glossy
  • Value - lightness or darkness of a colour

  • Achelois - One of the moon goddesses.
  • Alectrona - Early Greek goddess of the sun.
  • Bia - The goddess of force.
  • Eurus - The East Wind - One of the Anemoi (wind gods).
  • Gaia -  Goddess of the Earth, Mother Earth.

Thursday 30th January

We responded to the stimuli "Elements" this was by "Water". We used pictures this helped us  create 4 counts of 8 to respond to the picture we was given. We was given this picture
we created movement by using devices these were things such as cannon, unison, motif, motif development, dynamics, contrast, contact and logical sequencing. These were elements to help us create the choreography for our group piece. We came up with story behind the dance this was that the women in the photo was trapped in an aquarium (tank) and then her life changes and she becomes a famous mermaid. Also, in our group we suggested that water was a fluid dance but there could be a climax used by contrasting dynamics (speed and flow) e.g when waves hit on shore it becomes big and this would create a climax to a dance. We also thought of how mermaids moved and swimmers.

Firstly we used a tableau this idea came from the picture as the women is trapped. Elliott and Korenial are taking photos of the famous mermaid as tourist.  This was the start of a motif.

Also, we thought of waves moving and rolled around so it looked like Korenial was swimming. We also used contact work for this section.

Our group thought of how waves would move slowly so we created movement by cannon and unison as this stage. We also used logical sequencing were our bodies felt right were they were going.
We created movement with devices this section was by dynamics (force, speed and flow) and and symmetry. We created choreography by using floor patterns as well and not just staying in one place as a time.
We came up with the idea of a swimming race trying to get back out of were the mermaids were trapped and back to human life.
Finally we came back to the motif we started with this gave use of a structure ternary.

Water

I came up with the idea of a tap dripping this was the first thing that came into my head when I thought of water . I thought the movements throughout the dance could be contrasting dynamics and slow sanitised quick movements to resemble the water dripping from the tap.

I also thought of the colour blue and white as I imagine water bluey white colour. This would be a good idea for colours of costume.

Water reminds of ripples and a world pool as a boat sinks in the sea. It also reminds me of calm sea and then in a dance the climax could be the build up of rain and waves plashing against rocks.

Fire

Fire reminds me instantly of a powerful dance, this would be more krumping and breakin.
I also researched into dances that fire is used in
They used dynamics speed when moving the fire sticks around there head this created a climax as the dance became more interesting and a build up not always on one level. They also used fluid this was by how well each move flowed into another and made the dance fluid, they also used alot of speed this reminded me of fire as its fast and then dies down when the fire is put out with water.

Thursday 6th Feb

Today Kat gave the class a group task. I was put with Opal Rob and Bella. Each group  then got to pick a element witch were written on the board. The element that we had chosen we had to come up with a tableau and a set of movements to represent our element. My group chose the periodic table we the researched into it and looked at images from our research we then got the idea of Sodium and looked at images of sodium. It showed us that sodium is a chemical that is close together and then when it reacts with water the particles explode everywhere. We then created a motif to help us with our dance. We firstly started of with being close together and then spreading out using movement components e.g gestures, travelling and turning . We then developed this motif by using different levels, canon and unison to make it more interesting for the audience to watch.
